Deep in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside on the southern edge of the Mortimer Forest, the Riverside Inn nestles cosily at the point where the western arm of the Roman Watling Street crosses the River Lugg. Rich in original features and an atmosphere created by over 300 years of hospitality, the inn welcomes all visitors to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the truly beautiful location.
The Riverside at Aymestrey has accommodated guests since 1600 - at that time mainly sheep drovers stopping at the River ford (there wasn't a bridge in 1600).
We’ve had electricity, WiFi, flat-screen televisions and minibars - and a bridge - put in since then and our recently-refurbished rooms are all individually furnished, some with 400 year old beams embedded in the walls.
You can find information on each of our room types below, however all feature feather and down duvets with crisp white linen, and you'll find a flat screen TV, free wi-fi connection, freshly ground coffee and tea-making facilities plus homemade biscuits in your room for you to enjoy.
