Rail: The railway offers the most comfortable and convenient means of getting to Ludlow. The Marches Line between Manchester, Crewe and Cardiff provides an hourly service in either direction. Many trains continue beyond Cardiff to other destinations in South Wales. There are additional through trains, every two hours, between Cardiff, Chester and North Wales There are good connections at Crewe and Manchester for the north, Shrewsbury for Birmingham and the Midlands, and Newport (South Wales) for London and the South.
