End Date: Monday, 19 February 2018
Time: 7pm for 7.30pm
Type of Event: Talk for Friends of Ludlow Museum
Venue: Ludlow Museum Resource Centre
Michael's talk will cover the geology collection: how it evolved and why does it matter? A collection is more than just specimens: it includes information about what they are, where they occur, who collected them, and what this all means. This begins with the story of the Ludlow Natural History Society's collection, how it developed into a museum, and how the nation benefited. The resurrection of the museum in the 1950s and support for the work of the Ludlow Research Group takes us through to the present day, and the aim of the FISH Project: to make the collection accessible into the future.
