South Shropshire Access Group was established in 1993...

Why?

  • To raise awareness of the access needs of people with disabilities...
  • To work with the local authority and providers of goods and services to meet the needs and solve those problems...
  • To be a focus for consultation on matters of access to both indoor and outdoor environment...
Are you:
  • Disabled but able to walk?
  • Deaf or hard of hearing?
  • A parent using a push chair?
  • A wheel chair user?
  • Blind or partially sighted?
  • A carer of someone disabled?

We would really like to hear from you.

Who can help?

  • You can! If you are disabled, or if you have an interest in improving access facilities for the disabled, then we need you!

How can you help?

  • Tell us about your problems
  • Let us know where access is difficult for you.
  • Come and find out what is already being done for you in South Shropshire
  • We can all work together to obtain easier and safer access for all disabled people, carers AND parents with children in pushchairs, throughout the District of South Shropshire.

Who helps us?

  • We have the full support of the South Shropshire District Council, which also provides us with an access officer, for support, technical advice and information. We have the support of all the local Town Councils. There is an Access Grants Scheme to help local organisations and businesses make improvements in access.
